Walk-A-Thon
Dear Friends of Camp Wightman,
Join the 3rd annual Walk-A-Thon for Camp.
Camp Wightman is so much more than a run-of-the-mill summer camp. Of course, we have our Traditional campers who come to camp and get to create memories of a lifetime, but we are also affecting change in our communities across New England. Some of the other essential works being done at camp include:
- Our Partnership with Angle Tree Ministries by providing campers of incarcerated parents a week at camp.
- Supporting Adults with special needs through our ASC program.
- Providing scholarships to refugee campers displaced from the Congo and Ukraine. We also provide scholarships for families that need extra financial assistance.
-Providing support services for groups like the Royal Family, which provide experiences for children in the foster care system.
-Assisting the DeafBlind Support and Access Network to run its week-long retreat for providers and participants.
-Hosting and Providing support services for Project New Hope, a week-long retreat for veterans dealing with PTS.
The list could go on for a while if we included everyone whom Camp Wightman provides its ministries for. We do fundraisers like this to help Camp Wightman help others. If you can help by raising funds or donating, that's a huge blessing. If you can't help financially, we will take all the prayers you can send our way.
We are organizing the walk for Saturday, September 21st, 2024. We will be able to monitor progress moving closer to the date and give support and shoutouts on our Facebook page. You can sign up and make a team or individual fundraiser through this platform. You can also challenge your friends and set goals for yourself. We hope that everyone will be able to support this effort. Every single dollar raised helps to keep the camp going for generations to come.
This year we will have two different options for walking. The first option is to sign up and walk virtually from any place in the world. Our second option is to come to camp for our open house and walk here. We will meet at the pavilion by the lake at 2pm for check-in. You can then walk on your own or take one of our three guided tours. The open house is from 2-6pm. We will have music, wagon rides, food, crafts, and games. Come out and join the fun!!
