| Greetings!
We rejoice that
we are able to be a part of the ministry of Christian hospitality we
seek to offer to retreat and conference groups as they arrive at Camp
Wightman. God has provided us with 260 acres of beautiful forested land
on the shores of Billings Lake. The Department of Camping and
Conferencing of the American Baptist Churches of Connecticut has
thoughtfully developed this property to serve as a summer camp and a
retreat and conference facility.
Our goal is to
provide clean, comfortable surroundings for your lodging and meetings,
tasty and attractive meals, service and support for your retreat along
the way. We hope to do all of this in an unobtrusive way that does not
distract from your own agenda and your meetings.
Retreat
facilities at Camp Wightman include: Carpeted, winterized retreat
buildings with fireplaces, full kitchens, meeting areas; rustic cabin
villages for warmer months; unique covered wagons for those who like
camping out; a large dining hall for meetings and meals; cookout areas;
campfire areas, etc. Use of the waterfront can be arranged for swimming
and boating. Our low ropes course can be tailored to fit your retreat's
goals and purposes. Our outdoor chapel is a beautiful spot for worship;
hiking, basketball, and volleyball are other activities enjoyed by our
guests.
We would welcome
your inquiries via the means provided by this web page, e-mail, regular
mail or by telephone. You are welcome to visit us, we ask only that you
call ahead so that we might give your visit the attention it deserves.
Let us help you design a retreat to suit your group's size, purpose,
and needs.
