There are a number of ways to support the ministries at Camp Wightman.
Beyond the obvious prayerful and financial support is the very important role of the volunteer. Opportunities to volunteer at Camp abound—here are just a couple of ways:
Summer Program - Support Help a child grow in their faith and realize their full potential. Give a week of your time and experience and become a counselor or a program coordinator. Room and board, campfires and mosquitoes are included … and the rewards of seeing children grow in one week will remain with you for a lifetime.
- Thursday Crew
- Every Thursday, a group of dedicated men gather at Camp for fellowship and work. The Thursday Crew has been working at Camp Wightman since the 1960’s providing more than 5000 labor hours annually. Tasks vary from week to week, but can include: painting, construction, plumbing, mowing lawns, major and minor repairs, electrical, welding—just to name a few. Women are welcome too!
- Semi-Annual Workdays
- Spring and Fall each year sees a group of folk gather for fellowship and to take on a wide variety of tasks to either prepare the Camp for winter or summer. A call to the Camp office will reserve your spot and guarantee lunch.
- Sign-up for a Short Term Mission Trip
- Camp Wightman is now registered with ABC-USA National Ministries - Volunteers In Ministry, as a destination for Short Term Mission Trips. Bring a group to Camp for a week of Work and Worship. Take on a renovation or construction project that will effect thousands of people every year.
