Summer Camping Programs for Adults and Families

Grandparents with Grandchildren (GP/GC)

Grandparents and their grandchild(ren) will share a wonderful 3-day camping experience of hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, learning about God and each other.

Adults with Special Challenges (ASC)

A well-supervised fully-staffed camping experience for persons 21 and over who live independently in group homes or families. The focus is on being important in God’s world with a full range of camp activities and Christian fellowship.

ASC 1 will be held in our retreat centers; ASC 2 will be held in our Spicer Village cabins.

Note -- registrations for this camp will be screened for any special needs which may disqualify individuals from participation.

Wild Women in the Woods

This program, for women 25 and up, offers a flexible and enjoyable time at camp for those who want to “get away.” The flexible schedule offers high – and low-activity choices, fellowship, great food, the beauty of the woods and lake, all the other things you love about camp, and the chance to be away from the stress of the world. Lodging will be in the comfortable Reynolds and Meyer Retreat Centers.

If you long for the days when you were a camper — why not come back and be a camper again for a week of relaxation, fun and spiritual renewal?

New Friends

A one-overnight “hands-on” open house camp experience. This is a good way for a parent and child to “try out” Camp Wightman. Check out the waterfront, sleep in the beds, eat the food. (A credit of $15 will be applied to any camps still open that your child registers for later in the summer!)

Off-Site Programs!

Canoe Camp — An Offsite Program for Youth and Adults

Join us for a week-long flatwater canoe trip in the Adirondack Mountains. This Adirondack Mountain trip will give you hands-on experience in camping and canoeing skills including cooking out and portages. Campers must have completed at least 9th grade and the camp is also open to adults. Swimming proficiency is required; we will teach the required canoeing skills. A “readiness” day will be held on Saturday, July 19th, from 10am — 5pm.

This camp is a great opportunity to learn outdoor living and canoeing skills that will provide for a lifetime of enjoyment of the outdoors and the wilderness.

It’s also the perfect time for a parent and a young person to discover the outdoors together.
